about me

ME

I was born in the sparkling and optimistic year 1980 in Lugano, a small and sunny city in the south of Switzerland.

During my studies in Textile Design I’ve learned most of the techniques that I’m still using now and fell in love with watercolor and illustration, so I went to study Visual Communication, where I had the privilege to meet my hero François Berthoud, the great Swiss fashion illustrator – after showing him my early work he encouraged me to begin a career as a self taught illustrator.

I then started to visit magazine and newspapers offices, showing my portfolio to art directors and picture editors, getting my first editorial illustration assignments, building little by little a loyal clients list.

Once Switzerland felt too small and green I moved to London, where I spent seven years, and when I started to be in need of good weather and good wine rather than beer Bordeaux became my next destination. I now live in Milan, where I can enjoy good weather (except in foggy Winter), good wine and good food!

Let’s not forget its amazing fashion too…

MY INSPIRATIONS

My inspirations, after a strong cup of coffee (black espresso please!) are everywhere and basically anything that catches my eye – From visual advertising to books, food, supermarkets, exhibitions, nature but especially by travelling and strolling the streets!

I’ve always been passionate about colors, their amazing combinations and elegant details, in the pursuit of transferring onto paper emotions, feelings, moods – things not visible to the human eye, aiming to move people and to make them dream.

Emotion is very important to me, this is why I work by hand, I love mixing watercolor with other techniques, like markers, paper cut, pencil, having fun layering elements, in order to get a playful and fresh style.

I specialise in food illustration, map making, beauty products illustration, portraits, landscapes and more.

Mainly for editorial but also commercial, with several international clients, from magazines and newspapers to brands, luxury hotels and associations but also private clients.

I want to recreate the scent and taste of food for example, but not only food; the scent and taste of things in general – of life.
